Multiple Terms

• Multiple terms without quotes will return pages in which EITHER OR BOTH terms are found (i.e., AND is used by default between terms)
• Pages with both terms will be listed first on your results page

Reduce the number of results by using quotes around your terms

Multiple Terms - With Quotes and a Minus sign

• The minus sign is one of many possible "Boolean Operators" that can be used in the Digital Library as well as other search engines
• Make sure that there is NO SPACE between the minus sign and the term you wish to exclude
• You can use as many terms with minus signs in front of them as you wish
